Auf wiedesehen October und Hallo November!

Auf wiedesehen October und Hallo November!

Well it has been such a very long time since I've last updated my blog. The year 2014 is coming to an end. How time flies indeed! A lot of memories have been made (both good and bad) and I'm very glad that this one special Person has always been there for me through it all! Let's refresh some of the small little priceless moments that God has blessed me with.

1. Graduation Day (The happiest and also the saddest day of my life. The sweet and bitter memories of uni life)

2. My first job in Thomson Reuters Company. (Remember those times when you cried about why Public Bank is not working out for you? Now you know that God has a better plan for you Cat. You have found one of the very few friends that you can share your joy and pain, act like a crackhead without them being judgmental, a workstation you have turned into a decor artsy fartsy place and one of the most stress free job of all time.. Well most of the time heh!=P)

3. First time at bowling (My very first pure luck victory also MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!)

4. First company hiking trip to Monkey Beach (Lots of fun, mosquito bites and crazy moments with the colleagues!)

5. Decided to take up Daddy God's call to serve more this year. Even if it means sacrificing my morning sleep on a weekend.

6. My first religious concert featuring Paul Wilbur that happened THE VERY LAST MINUTE! Thank you Terence for being God's instrument! Without you I dont think I'll be able to "fly" all the way to Ipoh. I would also like to thank God for "sparing my life" because whoever knows Terence know he's a MAD CRAZY DRIVER. I was literally "flying" and praying whilst in his car ERMEHGERDDDDDD LOLOLOLLL. XDD

7. Officially a CHOICE member! Those are once in a lifetime chance and I'm glad to answer His call because unexpectedly I've made friends with so many people even those who are in the past. God is an amazing God who is full of suprises. *smiles*

8. Blessed to be a part of SCORE participant! SCORE stands for School for Community, Organization and Renewal Evangelisation. I pray that Daddy God will continue to burn the fire of passion in my heart to reach out to others and to spread God's love to those in need. I'm only a beginner but I have faith that I'll be able to learn with Him by my side. =)
9. My first time in a lahenga suit for Diwali. Thank you Kamini for the beautiful indian suit! This was definitely a steal. I got them at RM 40. SUPER CHEAP RIGHT? Heh.

10. Started a personal spiritual journal. Yes I'm a very lazy girl and procrastination is my best friend. BUT for God, I'll give it a try. I'm actually having this spiritual journal to write every testimonies (good and bad) to see my growth with Him.

11. My first car achieved after 6 months of working. I remembered that mum and I always had to wait long for Rapid buses to town or to church if Dad's busy working. Well I really thank God for all those times because I can proudly say that I appreciate all the hard times we went through. I wasn't born in a rich family to begin with. Everything was hardwork and my parents always taught that if you want something you've got to work hard for it. Basically nothing is impossible if you put your heart and mind to it.

Career and Life Goals of A Fresh Graduate

I've not been updating on my life ever since graduating so here's a short post on what's been happening lately heh. :)

Yes. I've started working in the most amazing and BLESSED job I'm having right now. Praise God for that because initially I was having "difficulties" on choosing my "route" to take as course of my stepping stone to success in the future. Public Bank didn't really work out mainly because I feel that it's not really challenging enough (routine reports, documents, paperwork and closing of accounts everyday URGH) Sue me for being "silly" on rejecting one of the top banks in Malaysia. I did that once on St. Georges for Convent Greenlane so I can always do it again blueks!=P Hopefully I do not apply that same thing for all the guys in future LOL.*touch wood* So Thomson Reuters it is! (YAYS! :) )

For all those who have not heard of The Reuters Company (most of online articles published are actually from Reuters itself MUAHAHAHA!) Here's a brief summary I got from Wikipedia.

Thomson Reuters Corporation is a multinational media and information firm based in New York City.[4] It was created by the Thomson Corporation's purchase of British-based Reuters Group on 17 April 2008,[5] and today is majority owned by The Woodbridge Company, a holding company for the Thomson family of Canada.[6] The company operates in more than 100 countries, and has more than 60,000 employees around the world.[3] Thomson Reuters was ranked as Canada's "leading corporate brand" in the 2010 Interbrand Best Canadian Brands ranking.[7] It is headquartered at 3 Times Square, Manhattan, New York City.

And about the recent controversial "tainted Cadbury" issues in Malaysia, Reuters was also part of it.

(Reuters) - Chocolate maker Cadbury Malaysia, a part of Mondelez International Inc, on Monday recalled two chocolate products after they tested positive for traces of pork DNA, the Nikkei Asian Review website reported. The traces were found during a periodic check for non-halal ingredients in food products by the Ministry of Health, which on Saturday said two of three samples of the company's products contained pork traces, the website said.

The two products, Cadbury Dairy Milk Hazelnut and Cadbury Dairy Milk Roast Almond, were readily available in stores throughout the country, Nikkei said.

Cadbury Malaysia, like most food makers in the country where Muslims make up more than 60 percent of the population, has all of its products certified halal to conform with Islam's dietary restrictions, one of which is a prohibition on pork. The company said it was undertaking a full review of its supply chain to ensure halal standards, according to the report, and the Malaysian government said it will conduct inspection of all Cadbury Malaysia's products.

Cadbury Malaysia was not immediately available to comment on the Nikkei report.

Basically, we do analysis for government bodies, organizations, companies affiliates, individuals or parties. We actually screen and research on names and identities. For example, you want to be employed for work. Employers/managers do not know how well your background is so they will come and find us to screen you in Worldcheck. So yes, we know where you live, what you do, your criminal records etc (Nah kidding!=P) LOL. But on a serious note, our job is to do crucial analysis on individuals and organizations before any business deals or financial reports are finalized by companies themselves! *smiles*

People kept asking me whether my job scope is actually related to what I've been studying for the past 3 years. Hmm how do I put it. Yes? Because I do read financial reports/analysis and investment trends all the time. No? Because I don't work in banks? Analyst job is in a way that everyday we'll be screening/reading and analyzing reports, documents, housing statements, meeting minutes, conversions, convocation lists, court hearings, journals,JOURNALS and whatever type of paper format you might find on this face of the Earth. We've seen it all. And we do not just read 10 or 20 of them but THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS. And sometimes, they wont be in English language as well. Imagine reading wtetrhjfpflf gsudnfolfprjtb GOSHHHH.. *pulls hair* But I find my job really exciting and I'm determine to stay in Reuters for a longer time.

Just to share with you guys some of my dreams and goals to achieve in this short-term run. By the grace of Daddy God. One can only plan but the rest is up to Him. The list:

 1) Business trip to Poland (This might be happening end of this year or end of next year.. My first ever business trip to the overseas.. Scary yet exciting at the same time..)

2)Master Degree in Corporate Management (in 2 years time.. year 2016 hopefully in Penang itself tehee! Started to save on this already and it must be done before I say any "I Do" to the guy of my life!)

 3) CHARITY WORK! (As Catholics, I honestly think that I should be doing something when God has given me everything I prayed for.. Try to see the Jesus in everyone even in the face of your enemies.. =) )

 4) Travel at the end of the year (Be it with families or with friends.. Take initiative to keep in touch with them.. At times I apologize for being extremely busy or just super lazy until someone had to say "Do we need to book one month earlier?" *sobs* WTH goshhh LOL..)

 5) Do some minor investment and SAVE TRUCKLOADS!!! (Time to brush up on investment basics)

 6) Something BIG this year.. Target to complete and to achieve in September-October wheee! *excited*

7) More time for Daddy God.. Be it rallies or camps or groups I want to serve, participate and taste more of Him..

Andddddd some pictures to depict my CRAZY yet awesome life in Reuters.. We're all 1MALAYSIA!

A Letter From The Love You Haven’t Met Yet (By Emily Bracken)

Dear Future Love of My Life:

I know. I should have written before. Forgive me. But I got the feeling that you were beginning to think I didn’t exist. But I do. And I wanted to let you know that while I might be as elusive as a unicorn grazing in a field of four-leaf clovers, I’m close.

I’m around the corner, down the street, on Facebook, in your office, at our local coffee shop, a complete stranger. I made eyes at you once on the subway. I saw you across the room at a party. I swiped you right on Tinder. But it’s not our time yet. And I know you’re wondering why.

It’s really not fair that you’ve had to wait this long, or go on blind dates, endure bad sex, settle for “meh” relationships, feel misunderstood, cry from loneliness, wrap your arms around a pillow as you fall asleep at night. I’m so sorry, my love. You deserve an explanation. So, here it goes. It’s taken me a long time to even admit this to myself, much less to you, so please know that everything I’ve written here is true.

The reasons we haven’t met yet, in no particular order:

 1. I haven’t thrown out the list of things I think you should be.
 2. I’m with the wrong person right now.
 3. I’m not ready to be loved unconditionally.
 4. Since my life isn’t together, I think you’ll reject me.
 5. I still believe that drama is a show of love.
 6. I’ve been intentionally keeping my head too busy to think with my heart.
 7. I need to date more to understand what I do and don’t like.
 8. I won’t be able to appreciate you until life has kicked my ass.
 9. I’m too focused on my own needs.
 10. I don’t know how to create the feeling of home that lives in my heart.

Clearly, I’m not my best self yet. Or even myself — I’m still figuring out who that is. I’m pretty sure even if we did meet, you wouldn’t like me all that much right now. It’s entirely possible that we did hit it off once, and I left without getting your information; or maybe I did get your number and never called because of any one of the above reasons.

Be patient with me, darling heart. Know that I’m working my way toward you. So don’t spend any more time thinking about where I am or am not. Just keep making your life exciting and full, so when we do finally come together, we can bring each other joy, because we are already happy.

I know it’s taking longer than you’d like. It’s a hell of a lot slower than I could have ever imagined. But I’m here. This is me talking to you. And I’m not going anywhere.

 Don’t give up on me.

 Yours, in perpetuity,
The Love You Haven’t Met Yet

It's Graduation Baby!

The most BLESSED time of the year that we have all been dreaming about for the past 3 years of degree life is finally here.. YES! Graduation Day! I would say my graduation day was really awesome despite the last minute preparations that we have to do. For example.. Mum and myself went down all the way to Kampar a week before graduation to collect the convocation attire for family photoshoot that week.

Honestly, the amount of effort, tears, sweat and pain just to get to this point was actually worth it. Among 200+ students in our course of Banking and Finance, there were only less than 50 graduates this year for year 2011 intake. Truthfully, it was not easy at all. I'm sure most of the UTAR students would agree with me. Assignments and examinations were tough (I'm not exaggerating but it was twice tougher than a public university. Ask any of the public uni students who came to UTAR and they will tell you the same). Most of my friends who are from a poor family background could not afford to extend themselves and ended up withdrawing from the university. It was a very sad sight to see because they were all very hardworking individuals. There were time I cried myself to sleep just because of stress (LOL) No kidding. Seriously. There were times I thought I was all alone in this because I could not talk to anyone else but to my best friends. Not even my parents because I'm not the kind that would love to "burden" my loved ones. Yes. I'm the "bottle it up" kind of girl. =P Sighh. Those were the bad times I had to endure mentally and spiritually. But God was there. He was there all along.

I could still remember having a conversation with one of my friends and she told me about this "UTAR curse" LOLOL. She was there for about 4 years and she told me this precisely.. "You want to enter UTAR is very easy but when you want to leave time it's gonna be very difficult".. Difficult is good because when things come easy, that means we tend to take advantage of it, more laid-back and relax or when it's easy means it's not good of a quality. It's just the matter of how you want to take that "challenge". Are you gonna be afraid of it? Or are you gonna stare that fear right into the eyes and say "My God is bigger than you"?

For me, I was not brought up with a silver spoon in my mouth. My parents did not have the chance to get into university because they were all from poor family backgrounds. But my grandparents are rich in virtues. My parents, aunts and uncle were brought up very well. And because of that, they taught me hard work. They have taught me that nothing in this world is free. You have to EARN IT and by doing so, then only we'll be able to appreciate small things in life. Because of this, I've determined to earn what they couldn't earn last time. I want to earn that scroll for them by sweat, tears, blood, and effort.

Well this is only the beginning of the many many things that I have in mind for them haha! I pray that Daddy God will approve the plans I have in the future. For now, IT IS ACCOMPLISHED! (John 19:30) Therefore, I bid university life goodbye.. Now let the pictures do the talking shall we? Heh!

Thank you Agnes for being the humble photographer for that day heh.. =)
Caught in action being "OMAIGAWD LIKE FINALLY!!" =P BWAHAHAHAHA! *grins*
Crazy people with crazy pictures is a MUST!=P Thank you Kakak Kerry for the support/gifts/advise/being my young "mum" in campus and coming all the way to share my joy hehe.. LOVE YOU LOTS! I pray that you'll always be blessed with happiness!
Agnes punya GIANT LILIES are as big as myself.. Can you see it? CAN YOU?!!! =P
Lay Xian and myself! You looked good girl! =)
Family! Youngest sister went MIA because she wasn't feeling very well but it's OK.. As long as we all have that family photoshoot back home with Ah Ma heh! =3
Ming Fei! The only few lengzais in UTAR.. Lengluis- ALOT.. Lengzai- Errrrrr.. *no comment with cricket sound* MUAHAHAHAHA
Daddy, the person whom has taught me the importance of education.. Trust me.. He would ring them everyday into our ears during schooling days by telling us.."Only through education can you get what you can't get in life.. Education will bring you up".. Yes! I will always remember that Dad..=D
Mummy! *insert baby voice* The person that I could share my secrets with and joke like a friend..Closest person after my sisters and Dad!=P
Agnes with the scroll.. Thank you for coming all the way even though you're busy with work! Thank you for constantly being there and above all sharing joys and pain! I pray that I will see this day coming again.. This time it's gonna be you! And your lilies are gonna be more bigger than that.. Maybe masuk World Record!=P *jumps around like a silly girl*
Vicky! Thank you for being my partner-in-crime during our uni days.. Thank you for constantly being there and telling me nonsensical jokes when times were difficult.. Haha!
Thank you to beloved families and friends for the showers of blessings!

An Open Letter To My Ex: How A Best Friend Becomes A Stranger

[Adapted from Elite Daily]

 Hey there, stranger.

It’s been a very long time, which I’m sure you’re aware of. I’d like to say that it was your decision alone to keep this distance, but I think we both know it was for the best. I’d like to say that I’m glad you are well, but as we both know I have absolutely no idea how you are. The one thing that can definitely be said is that when we cut ties, we leave no strand behind, but slice right through until we no longer remember how to find each other. It’s amazing to think that once we were inseparable, the best of friends.

You knew me inside and out, and I, you. We were there for each other in the best of times and through the most difficult of times. We definitely managed to put each other through hell on occasion, but when support was needed the most, support was given. Until, of course, that final day. I sometimes find myself wondering why we couldn’t stay in touch. Would it be so bad if we got together for coffee from time to time? Or if we gave each other a ring to see how the other was doing?

Using the phone to make calls has become archaic, but surely we could send a text to wish each other a happy birthday? Or a happy New Year? I mean, we’ve been through so much. You are a part of my life and there is nothing I can do to ever change that.

You can’t be forgotten because forgetting you would be like forgetting myself — impossible. But then again, maybe you are right. Maybe we are better off as far apart as possible. We know we aren’t right for each other. We know it would never work, and we know the friendship we have — we had — created a bond that would make slipping back into romance too easy. It would make repeating the same mistakes too likely, repeating the same heartbreak certain. That’s what it really comes down to: It’s not my heart that I’m worried about, but yours.

Breaking my own heart would be my responsibility to bear, but I can’t once again be responsible for breaking yours.

So all that I can do is wish you the best. Wish you a great, bright, loving future. Wish you to find the lover of your dreams and to create a lifetime of your fantasies. I wish for you to find a friend as great as me, but a much better partner. One who won’t drag you through the mud. One who you won’t feel the need to bury with guilt. I wish you all the best and although you will never read this, although we will never speak to each other again, and although you are out of my life forever, I wish you nothing short of happiness.

 Never again to be yours,

Your Lost Best Friend

When 2013 is Coming to an End..

Since year 2013 is ending very soon, well I guess this deserves a post huh? *wink*

Basically this year has been a roller coaster ride for me but thankfully I could always feel that the Lord was near all the time.. *wipes tears* I had my final year this year, went into training at Bosch Penang, flew all the way to KL for job interview, got my first job before graduation (God is super awesome!) and spent Christmas with beloved families. I'll just let the pictures do the talking then..=)
And then the end of my training period.. My internship with Bosch was a very memorable one.. I've learned so much.. To sum everything up, I've learned that working life is totally different from study life (Thank you to all of my old folks for warning me that amen..=P)

I've learned that Bosch people are really nice people.. Honestly, when I first came into Bosch, I was equipped with NOTHING except notes and textbooks that I've learned from university life.. But I told God that whatever it is, I want my training to be an experience that I could take and apply to my future career.. And the Lord did more than just that..

The first month was quite a struggle for me.. I had handful of tasks to handle and I also had to follow up on projects besides computing budgeting, cost calculation, Return on Investment etc.. I had NO IDEA what SMT is all about (I've never been in factory line before), I've no clue what's PMO, PMP, BGN, SAP,  BOM and all other abbreviations and was only given 3 days to learn.. So I was like "I'm so going to be dead.. O..M..G" But I never did gave up because my whole purpose of training is to experience the working environment.. So I took Mummy's old notebook and wrote every single thing down.. EVERYTHING including what my supervisor was saying just to make sure every tasks he gave me was completed on time LOLOL..*facepalm*

That notebook literally became my "best friend" until some of my colleagues would be like "Why are you carrying your notebook everywhere?" So I just told them that it's my "walking dictionary"..=P A week later after that, I got familiarize with all the terms and each project flows.. Meetings were held every single day.. The second month of training was a lot better because I was already assigned to handle several mini projects by my supervisor.. So I really praise Daddy God for that..=)

Lessons that I've learned during my training is that working life is never easy.. We were always spoon-fed by our teachers or tutors or lecturers in university.. You can just asked whatever you do not understand and baam! You'll get the answers directly.. But in working world, we are constantly learning.. We are not given guidelines on how to make things work and how to figure things out.. We will have to struggle them.. It's like a battlefield out there.. We'll always have to keep moving and solving our way out and if you're blessed, there will be some really nice people who are willing to guide us.. But there's also some nasty ones as well..

Certificates and string of As are just tickets to where you want to land yourself onto.. After that, it's all about hardwork, communication skills, interpersonal skills, how you talk and walk, how you negotiate with others, how humble you are, practicals will matter most.. But I was really blessed to be with so many great colleagues all around me that *cough* showers me with *cough* Deutsch CHOCOLATES all the time LOLOL.. There's nothing more in this world that can make me trade such awesome possum superiors and friendships made.. THANK YOU SO MUCH! *hugs*

Bosch's Project Management Managers! From left: Mr Phuah, Mr Loehnert Uwe, Miss Ang and Mr Lee! =)
And oh! Did I told you guys I've also been invited for Bosch's project billboard? *grins*Maybe sometime soon in the future, I'll be able to drive by and say "Hey! That used to be my awesome possum training place!" =P
AND... ONE OF MY HIGH SCHOOL BEST FRIEND JUST GOT ENGAGED! CONGRATULATIONS once again BFF! I hope and pray that you and Asher will cherish one another and be blessed with love till the end of time!  *big bear hugs!*

And last but not least: #Jesus's Christmas Gift for me this year: A job offer position of Financial Executive and Unit Trust Consultant at Public Bank Penang itself tehee..PRAISE YOU LORD! <3 p="">
And New Year's Eve plan tomorrow? Interview at The Star.. And FAMILY TIME!
HAVE A BLESSED 2014 PEOPLE! May the Lord shower you with peace, love, hope and happiness all year round!
